In 2011, Stanhope acquired Jewson Associates, one of the UK’s leading investment consultancy firms. Stanhope created a new unit focused on the charity sector named Stanhope Jewson headed by Edward Jewson. The Stanhope Jewson team combines experience from investment management, banking and the charities sector. Many of the team have previously held senior positions in investment management houses.

Edward has over 18 years of experience in advising substantial charities and institutions. Edward founded Jewson Associates in 1993 and built it into one of the UK’s leading independent investment consultancy firms in the charity sector until its acquisition by Stanhope Capital in 2011. His career has mainly been in the City of London, where he was a director of Cater Allen Limited, the bank and discount house. He has also managed businesses in both New York and Dublin.

Alice Ryder

Senior Director, Stanhope Jewson

 

Alice has over 25 years of investment experience. She is a Senior Director at Stanhope Jewson and is responsible for client relationships with substantial charity clients.

After graduating from Bristol University, Alice spent 17 years as an investment manager, initially at Henderson Administration and then at Framlington Investment Management where she was a director.

During this period she managed portfolios for leading institutional clients, including substantial pension funds and a large ethically constrained charity.

Charles Franklin

Senior Director, Stanhope Jewson

 

Charles Franklin has over 20 years’ investment management experience. After graduating from Cambridge University, where he achieved a double starred first in History, he has spent his career at leading financial institutions, including Deutsche Asset Management and most recently headed the Japan team at Threadneedle Asset Management. He spent 14 years specialising in Japan and Japanese equities but his career has spanned a variety of roles including UK research and global fund management. Charles has also played an active role on asset allocation committees.
